Wounded Warrior Project

Marin Needle Arts is proud to be partnering with Broadway Quilts and the American Legion of Sonoma making Quilts for the Wounded Warriors. Besides quilts the American Legion is sending care packages with all types of personal items and homemade pillowcases that will be distributed to the troops, especially the workers at the hospital in Afghanistan where the soldiers are first tended before being transported to Germany or home. To date guild members have contributed over 12 quilt tops along with backs and bindings; members have also made more than 30 pillowcases.

Quilts are made primarily using Red, White and Blue Fabric. The quilt tops are made 45" X 81", specifically to fit gurneys and stretchers.Below is a sampling of the quilts that have been made for the project.

Pillowcases are for standard size bed pillows. We have been using lots of cheerful fabrics for the pillow cases. Size specifications and pictures can be seen on the "pillowcase" page.
